MOUNT ARROWSMITH DAY HIKE

Why not sign up for a day hike to the spectacular summit of Mount Arrowsmith, (right in our backyard)? Typically accessed by the famous “Judge’s Route”, which is strenuous, but the rewards are great with views of the Coastal Mountains, views of the “Big” peaks of the Strathcona Park and the ocean on both sides of the island from the Alberni Inlet to the Salish Sea.

ELKHORN

The second-highest peak on Vancouver Island, Elkhorn is the "Matterhorn of the Island Alps". The classic North West Ridge was the line of first ascent by an Alpine Club expedition led by A.O Wheeler in 1912. This is a 6,000ft ascent from the valley floor to the summit, which has some low 5th-class rock climbing. This means this two-day trip is challenging but ultimately rewarding. See amazing views of the surrounding peaks, such as Colonel Foster, and The summit of Kings peak just across the Glacier Some hiking and scrambling experience are recommended.

This trip is best done as a 3-day outing but can be done in 2 days by very fit parties. Trips listed at $525 are 2-day trips, whereas those listed at $775 are 3-day trips.

KING'S PEAK

For those who love the mountains and gorgeous summit views but who prefer to avoid technical climbing, King's Peak is an amazing alpine outing. A strenuous two-day hike takes you through a beautiful valley forest up into a steep ridge, and follows a glacier runoff stream with multiple waterfalls, rugged terrain, to a hanging valley and upper cirque(where we will set up camp) to the summit with sensational views of the highest peaks of Strathcona Park, including the most breathtaking view of Elkhorn and its majestic Glacier.

$450.00 per person

Mt. Albert Edward “the gateway to the Strathcona park”

Take a stroll through Paradise Meadows, and pass a number of beautiful small lakes, as you encounter more strenuous trail, making your way to Circlet Lake, where camp will be set up. Day two starts up some steep terrain up to a high meadow, and crosses the “ice fields”, which in summer is dotted by many beautiful tarns, on your way past Mt. Frink and to the rocky ridges that make the way up to the high 2093 metre summit. You will be rewarded with an amazing panoramic view of the sunshine coast, and in to the Strathcona park, where you will see The Golden Hinde, Nine Peaks, and The Comox Glacier.
